Sébastien Giot

After a double study program – violin and oboe (in his father’s class) – in the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional Perpignan Méditerranée, he joined, as the first appointed, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Lyon, in Jean-Christophe Gayot’s and Guy Laroche’s teaching.

At the age of twenty, he entered the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg as the Principal Oboe and teached in the Conservatoire de Strasbourg and in the Académie Supérieur des Arts du Rhin.

Between 2001 and 2004, he won five international prizes, including the International Young Concert Artists Auditions in New-York. Frequently invited as a Oboe Soloist in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, he is also a member of the Quintette Érasme, and performs, in chamber music, along with artists such as Jean-Yves Thibaudet, François Frédéric Guy or Marc Coppey.

Sébastien Giot has been trusting Rigoutat since 1988.
